Filming ĎAre You Ready For Love?í commenced in September 2005 after 4 weeks of pre-production.† The film was shot entirely on location in London over 5 weeks and encompassed some of Londonís most celebrated landmarks.† From exciting Soho streets, to the grand interiors at Central Hall in Westminster, serene London parks such as Hampstead Heath with its rolling greens and distinctive art works to the South Bank with elegant shots along the Thames incorporating Londonís beautiful architectural landscape and maritime history, every shooting day was an exciting discovery of a new aspect of London.

Tremendous care was taken when scheduling the shoot to ensure that the film conveyed a real sense of the vibrant modern city whilst retaining the stateliness and romance of the old ≠ a combination which is cherished by those living in London.† Simultaneously, it was essential to convey accurately what it is like to be single in such a busy, commercial city and therefore to portray the personal lives and intimate relationships of the characters and how they fit into this sometimes seemingly gargantuan setting and frantic way of life.† The idea of finding love in modern times can feel more complex than it might have done for earlier generations and the existence and concept of speed dating itself is a perfect illustration that meeting partners can be problematic.

Speed dating is a phenomenon which has been around since the 1990ís and was reputedly invented by a Los Angeles Rabbi as a way for young Jewish singles to meet and find suitable partners.† It has since spread throughout the world as a revolutionary way for busy single people to meet each other.† The concept of speed dating involves an equal number of men and women attending a venue.† Each person will then spend between 3 and 10 minutes chatting to each member of the opposite sex.† Each speed dater then has to decide which people they would like to see again and the organizers of the event facilitate an exchange of details if there is a match.

The speed dating scene in London is a particularly vibrant one and this is something which is heavily featured in ĎAre You Ready For Love?í† Speed dating events are imaginative and often have stylish and fun themes, so when choosing locations, scheduling the shoot and designing sets the production team really went to town!† There are dating events at an ice rink, in an art gallery, on a boat on the Thames and even in a supermarket!

Amidst these organized events we have scenes set in the homes of the main characters and their workplaces.† This took us from a vets in Barnes to music studios in Maida Vale, and scenes set in a publishing house near Greenwich with stunning panoramic views across the city.

Filming finished on 24th October 2005 and the film is currently in post-production.† This is an equally exciting part of the process when all the hard work from pre-production and the actual shoot comes together and the finished film begins to emerge.† The film will be completed by Spring 2006.
